'Oops I Did It Again'

Hi everyone,

So I went to the Sleek counter again. Big Mistake. Superdrug are doing 3 for 2 at the moment on cosmetics so I had to take advantage of that ... it would be stupid not too.

So, if you read my last post here, you would have seen my review on the lovely 'Babydoll' lipstick from Sleek. This particular one was a sheen lipstick, so I decided to try their matte lipsticks as I only have one matte lipstick from Topshop (which is surprising as I have so many!). My first choice was the beautiful coral coloured 'Papaya Punch', which may look quite a summery colour, but when applied it isn't as 'coral' as I thought it would be, so is perfect for these winter months if you stick to a monochrome colour scheme with your clothes.

I am not a huge fan of coral lipsticks, just as I don't think it is a colour that really suits me, but this shade is the perfect coral for me as it isn't as orangey as I thought it would be.

The next lip product I brought was another matte lipstick in the colour 'Heartbreaker'. It is a very vibrant pink colour and reminds me of the Topshop matte lipstick in 'All About Me' (reviewed here) but is just slightly less 'in your face' - which I suppose is probably better!

What I love about these matte lipsticks by Sleek is that they are very easy to apply, and I must admit I have to prefer the matte ones, even though I love the colour of 'Babydoll', as I am not constantly having to worry about whether they have gone 'patchy' or disappeared entirely. At £4.99, I think the price is very reasonable and I think the colour range is much more exciting than any other drugstore brand out there - I definitely think Sleek need much more recognition for their products.

Although I can't say the formula is amazing, it does the job and if you don't mind reapplying every now and again but want some beautiful lip colours, it may be worth giving Sleek a try!

My final item in the 3 for 2 was something I knew would be amazing and I would have no complaints about and that was one of their incredible blushes in the colour 'Pixie Pink'. It is quite a bright pink blush in the flesh, but it is so pigmented it gives a lovely bit of colour and makes me look much more awake on an early morning! Ignoring the price (it's £4.49 if you were wondering) I would be happy with this blush if I had brought it from a high end beauty counter and they last for so long they are worth the tiny amount you pay for them. As you can tell, I am a little bit obsessed with this blush at the moment so I would 100% recommend it to anyone.

Finally, I went in to Lush (which I haven't been in for years) and went to pick up one of their Lip Scrubs as I had heard so much about them and kept putting of buying one.

I was going to try the Popcorn one, but saw that they had a new Christmas one called 'Santa's Lip Scrub' which is cola flavoured. It is quite strong smelling, but I have a weakness when it comes to anything festive!

The product itself does the job well and really helps when applying lipstick as you notice the difference immediately. It also has little glitter hearts in it just to add to the festive spirit! I would highly recommend trying one of their lip scrubs as I think at £5.50 the price is reasonable, and they will hopefully last for a long time (and if you love lipstick as much as I do then this is a saviour).

I hope you enjoyed reading this little beauty haul and let me know if you have tried any of these products in the comments, and also if you would recommend any other of Sleek's products - let's try and get them more well known! I will leave a link to the products below,

Thanks for reading,

'Candy Girl'

Hi everyone,

So I am huge fan of Sleek Makeup. I love their Rose Gold Blush (reviewed here) and a few of their other products and their prices are so reasonable it's so hard to find fault with anything they sell. I am also a huge fan of lipstick, so it's a bit ridiculous that I haven't tried any of their lip products yet.

So on my last trip to Superdrug, I went to the Sleek section and came across the most perfect baby pink colour I think I have ever seen. I introduce to you the Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Babydoll. What a perfect name and a perfect colour.

As always the packaging is lovely and simple, even displayed in a little box, so you know it hasn't been opened (one of my pet hates for buying drugstore beauty products!).

The lipstick itself claims to contain Vitamin E to "hydrate and protect lips" from "premature ageing" which I must admit is nothing I worry about as such at my age, but I suppose it's not a bad thing!

It's also a sheen lipstick, so it does have a slight glossy finish, but my trouble with this is although the colour looks lovely, it doesn't stay put very long, and this may sound weird, but it sort of looks like you've used paint for a lipstick ... it would make sense if you could see it!

Although this is a minor problem, if applied well and correctly it does show up the exact same colour as shown in the image above, and I had quite a few comments on it when I wore it for the first time. It does need to be regularly re-applied though otherwise it can disappear, but if you're willing to cope with that to have the most amazing lip colour then I would highly recommend it! If anyone has tried a really good Sleek lipstick then just let me know in the comments! (Sorry about the quality of the image but I hope you can see the colour!)

On the subject of lipsticks and lip colour, Elle Magazine are giving away a free Benefit Lipgloss with their December 2013 issue in the colours Coralista, Hoola and Dandelion. I picked up Dandelion and I am actually really impressed with it. I usually 100% prefer lipsticks to lipglosses but this one has a lovely texture and natural 'your lips but better' colour to it so I would recommend picking one up if you see Elle Magazine this month!

Thanks for reading and leave any comments or suggestions in the box below! Link for the lipstick is below and their lip products are on 3 for 2 at the moment at Superdrug!

'You're As Cold As Ice' - Winter Picks 2013

Hi everyone,

So it's not an OOTD as such today, but I just couldn't wait to show you what I picked up the other day. I also thought I would throw in a few other things I picked up at the same time as they will be coming up in future OOTD's so this is a little sneak peek I suppose :)

DRUM ROLL PLEASE .... So here is, in my opinion, the most gorgeous coat I think I've ever seen. It's from Topshop and is the most beautiful creamy white colour and is SO warm I'm sort of wishing the colder weather would just hurry up already!

What really caught my eye about this coat was the huge collar (which I think looks lovely)and the coat is so oversized it will be perfect for layering and the colour goes with pretty much anything. Surprisingly I haven't actually got a coat this colour - and let me tell you, I have a lot of coats. It also has a lovely texture too; it's sort of fluffy but not like that annoying fluff that sticks to your clothes constantly, but then again, I haven't worn it for a significant length of time yet! But basically it's warm - and that's the most important thing in my opinion :)

Okay, so the price - not cheap - but worth it, 100%. It's £89, so £80.10 with student discount, but I think this is a perfect addition to a winter wardrobe, and will be the only coat I buy this winter - I promise :)

Before I had this major spend though, I brought two items from Primark; one being a baby pink jumper which was £8, and looks perfect under my new coat (it was fate - I tell myself that anyway!) I haven't taken a picture of me wearing it simply because I'm sure an OOTD will be coming very soon :)

The colour is a lovely baby pink but has a white thread going through it, and it also has a sort of scoop neck to it which I think makes it look a lot more expensive than it actually is. Just to let you know I got this in a size 8, and usually I would get a size 10 as I like my jumpers oversized, but these come up bigger than normal, so if you want one I would get a size smaller, depending on the fit you like.

The last thing was something I had wanted for ages, but was always put off by the prices most stores or websites charged, so when I saw one in Primark I was over the moon :) This black faux fur lapel collar was just £6 (£6!) and has little hooks so you can clip each side together and was something I wanted last winter but just couldn't force myself to spend £20 or more on. It is actually the perfect size and shape aswell - so if you have been looking for one get to Primark ASAP!

Thanks for reading and let me know in the comments if you have brought anything good in Primark recently or any amazing coats because I would love to see them :) if you're interested I will leave the link to the coat below (but see it in the flesh if you can - the website pic does not do it justice!)

P.S I got on Bloglovin's Recommendations page which is super exciting!

'And It Was All "Yellow"'

Hi everyone,

So, today is the day. I am finally uploading an OOTD! I hope you all like it as I've tried really hard to pick an interesting outfit and I am still having to sort out locations and lighting etc but I hope this is a good start!

This is one of my favourite jumpers at the moment, from Miss Selfridge. It is a gorgeous yellow colour which I think is perfect for autumn and cost £19 (which I don't think is a bad price!) It is slightly cropped which you can't see on these pictures, but it looks lovely with high waisted trousers aswell.

What I love most about it though is the scoop neck that it has. I have been on the look out for one like this for so long, but they always seem to be so expensive! The jumper also has long sleeves which is of course perfect for winter and as the jumper is quite thin, it is good to layer with jackets and coats for the colder months ahead!

I have paired this jumper with my lovely cord pinafore from Primark (which was only £13!) and my Primark Super Cosy tights with a fleece lining which are amazing - at £3.50 they are so warm and will be a life-saver in winter when you want to wear skirts and dresses. Fianlly, I paired the whole outfit with my Topshop Arabel2 boots which were the best investment ever (I reviewed them here).

I have a few more outfit posts planned for this week - I actually really enjoyed planning this one! - but I hope you enjoyed this one and I hope the quality of these will get better as I do more of them!

Thanks for reading!

Maybe It's Maybelline...

Hi everyone,

The third post this week; I honestly don't know how I have had the time to do three posts but for some reason I always seem to do more when I am super busy - please say some of you are the same!

Anyway, I went into Boots yesterday on the search for a new eyeliner. I came to the Maybelline section to see there was a 3 for 2 offer on (bonus!) and I must admit I have always tried to steer well clear of Maybelline, I couldn't even tell you why, but I have heard so much about a few of their products I thought I would give a few of them a whirl :)

So, here are the few products I picked up. For the eyeliner, I had heard a lot about the EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24H so I thought this might be a good place to start. At £7.99, I wouldn't say it was incredibly cheap, I mean it's a lot cheaper than the high end products, but it is still enough to pay for an eyeliner.

What I loved about this straight away is that it comes with a brush. I don't own an eyeliner brush (well I probably do but finding it would be a task of its own) and the packaging actually looks quite expensive which was a pleasant surprise. It also comes in a range of colours which is great. I decided to go for the colour 'Black Gold' as I think black can look quite harsh on pale skin and I didn't want to go for brown so I guess this is like a mixture of the two. In the pot it actually looks black but it does look a lot more browner in the flesh. I will let you know how I get on with it and also let me know if you have tried it already!

The next thing I needed to purchase to get the 3 for 2 offer was the famous Colour Tattoo 24HR eye shadows/bases which I think everyone has heard about, but at £4.99 a go I was a bit reluctant, but knowing I would be getting one for free was that last little push I needed!

As I had just brought a bronze eyeshadow from Topshop (see that blog post here) I didn't go for the famous 'And On Bronze', but instead I went for one that I had wanted for ages called 'Pink Gold (65)' which as the name states is a lovely Pink Gold colour. I would say this does have a slight shimmer to it but I wouldn't say it was over the top, but I'm looking forward to use this as I think it is a perfect colour for everyday as it can either be subtle or be built up.

I really didn't want to go for one of their really bright colours like the blue or purple as, well, to be honest they are not my cup of tea and I'm not that brave, so I decided to play it safe and chose 'Permanent Taupe (40)' which is a lovely neutral basically taupe colour (sorry I'm not amazing at describing colour!). I think these will be great for really lazy uni days where I want to make everyone believe I have made an effort, but really haven't. If any of you guys have tried these let me know and how would you say is the best way to apply them?

I hope you have enjoyed this post and I hope you like the pictures for my blog as I am trying as hard as I can to make them look as good as possible and I hope you can see that they are better quality - fingers crossed! I'm also getting to the stage where I can't use any of my new products until I have taken pictures for my blog - I hope I'm not the only one that does this!

See you next week (hopefully) and don't forget to leave a comment as I love receiving them!

Love
Sarah
