'And It Was All "Yellow"'

Hi everyone,

So, today is the day. I am finally uploading an OOTD! I hope you all like it as I've tried really hard to pick an interesting outfit and I am still having to sort out locations and lighting etc but I hope this is a good start!

This is one of my favourite jumpers at the moment, from Miss Selfridge. It is a gorgeous yellow colour which I think is perfect for autumn and cost £19 (which I don't think is a bad price!) It is slightly cropped which you can't see on these pictures, but it looks lovely with high waisted trousers aswell.

What I love most about it though is the scoop neck that it has. I have been on the look out for one like this for so long, but they always seem to be so expensive! The jumper also has long sleeves which is of course perfect for winter and as the jumper is quite thin, it is good to layer with jackets and coats for the colder months ahead!

I have paired this jumper with my lovely cord pinafore from Primark (which was only £13!) and my Primark Super Cosy tights with a fleece lining which are amazing - at £3.50 they are so warm and will be a life-saver in winter when you want to wear skirts and dresses. Fianlly, I paired the whole outfit with my Topshop Arabel2 boots which were the best investment ever (I reviewed them here).

I have a few more outfit posts planned for this week - I actually really enjoyed planning this one! - but I hope you enjoyed this one and I hope the quality of these will get better as I do more of them!

Thanks for reading!

Maybe It's Maybelline...

Hi everyone,

The third post this week; I honestly don't know how I have had the time to do three posts but for some reason I always seem to do more when I am super busy - please say some of you are the same!

Anyway, I went into Boots yesterday on the search for a new eyeliner. I came to the Maybelline section to see there was a 3 for 2 offer on (bonus!) and I must admit I have always tried to steer well clear of Maybelline, I couldn't even tell you why, but I have heard so much about a few of their products I thought I would give a few of them a whirl :)

So, here are the few products I picked up. For the eyeliner, I had heard a lot about the EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24H so I thought this might be a good place to start. At £7.99, I wouldn't say it was incredibly cheap, I mean it's a lot cheaper than the high end products, but it is still enough to pay for an eyeliner.

What I loved about this straight away is that it comes with a brush. I don't own an eyeliner brush (well I probably do but finding it would be a task of its own) and the packaging actually looks quite expensive which was a pleasant surprise. It also comes in a range of colours which is great. I decided to go for the colour 'Black Gold' as I think black can look quite harsh on pale skin and I didn't want to go for brown so I guess this is like a mixture of the two. In the pot it actually looks black but it does look a lot more browner in the flesh. I will let you know how I get on with it and also let me know if you have tried it already!

The next thing I needed to purchase to get the 3 for 2 offer was the famous Colour Tattoo 24HR eye shadows/bases which I think everyone has heard about, but at £4.99 a go I was a bit reluctant, but knowing I would be getting one for free was that last little push I needed!

As I had just brought a bronze eyeshadow from Topshop (see that blog post here) I didn't go for the famous 'And On Bronze', but instead I went for one that I had wanted for ages called 'Pink Gold (65)' which as the name states is a lovely Pink Gold colour. I would say this does have a slight shimmer to it but I wouldn't say it was over the top, but I'm looking forward to use this as I think it is a perfect colour for everyday as it can either be subtle or be built up.

I really didn't want to go for one of their really bright colours like the blue or purple as, well, to be honest they are not my cup of tea and I'm not that brave, so I decided to play it safe and chose 'Permanent Taupe (40)' which is a lovely neutral basically taupe colour (sorry I'm not amazing at describing colour!). I think these will be great for really lazy uni days where I want to make everyone believe I have made an effort, but really haven't. If any of you guys have tried these let me know and how would you say is the best way to apply them?

I hope you have enjoyed this post and I hope you like the pictures for my blog as I am trying as hard as I can to make them look as good as possible and I hope you can see that they are better quality - fingers crossed! I'm also getting to the stage where I can't use any of my new products until I have taken pictures for my blog - I hope I'm not the only one that does this!

See you next week (hopefully) and don't forget to leave a comment as I love receiving them!

Topshop Haul

Hi everyone,

So this is my very first Haul! I don't know how many items it needs to be to be classed as a Haul, but anyway these are just a few things I've purchased online on Topshop in the past few days.

So my main reason for getting these items was because I'd been planning on buying the Topshop Mom Jeans. Now I know what your thinking ... I'm just following the hype - but actually I have an acid wash pair that I wear ALOT and I just fancied having them in black aswell, purely to allow me to wear more colours and to go with some items that I already have in my wardrobe. I also think they are so comfortable and for me that is the most important thing as I hate wearing tight things - everything has to be oversized!

So I purchased the plain black pair (not the acid wash black as I wanted them to look a bit smarter this time) and realised I could get free delivery if I spent £50 and as the jeans were £40, I thought I would make up the difference as Topshop delivery is £4! (a little bit expensive if you ask me!) I also get 10% off being a student so that was even more items to put into my basket! So I decided on a few beauty items as I was so impressed with their lipstick I tried (read about that here) so I went for the Glow Highlighter in Gleam which is a gorgeous gold colour. I have used highlighters before but I have never found one that I really love and look forward to putting on so I hope this will fit the bill!

On first impressions the colour of this is slightly bronze rather than gold but it does give a lovely bit of colour to an incredibly pale English Rose! I would probably say this product would be better for a darker skin tone, but if you are paler like me it still works to give a bit of shimmer and colour if blended in correctly. The consitency surprised me aswell - it's very creamy whereas I thought it would be a bit thicker and harder to apply but it is so creamy it does just blend in pretty much straight away - which is good when you are always in a rush like me :) At £9 it is pretty expensive, but it looks like it will last for quite a while and I think will work throughout winter and through the spring and summer months too.

The next product was this gorgeous nail varnish in 'Rumours and Lies' which is a gorgeous dark berry colour and is a perfect introduction to autumn as it is such a lovely colour. I love Topshop nail varnishes as they are quite thick but not gloopy and at £5 they are much cheaper than some of the higher end products (that personally I don't even like as much!)

Finally I chose this gorgeous eye colour duo in the shade 'Woodland Walk' and that basically sums up this colour perfectly. It is a mixture of bronze and a dark brown; colours which I haven't ever used, so I thought this would be a perfect start into the realm of bronzey eye shadow shades!

I think these colours will be perfect for autumn and at £6 I don't think it's a bad price for two colours which are very pigmented and beautiful.

Thanks for reading and I hope you like the products - let me know if you have tried any of them or similar ones as I would love to hear your opinions! I will leave the links for the products below too. Again I am swamped with uni work at the moment so I couldn't put any swatches or images of me wearing the products but I hope it was informative anyway!

Apparently it's 'All About Me' - Lipstick Review

Hello everyone,

Again, I have neglected my blog of posts this week but uni is starting to get VERY time consuming and organising a photoshoot in two weeks has become quite a difficult task I must admit. So, unfortunately my work has to come first, but I thought I would just do a quick post on a product that I have recently bought and am a little in love with.

I have never tried any of the Topshop lipsticks before but when I went in to my store near my uni the colours were AMAZING and of course I was drawn to the brightest (no, seriously it is SO bright) colour there was. I would like to introduce you to 'All About Me', possibly the most beautiful and yet scary lipstick I have ever come across.

I'm sure some of you may think this is hideous, and I hope some you, like me, love it, but are not brave enough to wear it. Well, I decided to give it a go ... and it's definitely a statement! I would pobably say it was more of an evening lipstick, simply because it is so bright, but what I love is the texture and look of the lipstick. It is a matte lipstick (which I love) and it has an amazing colour payoff (if all Topshop lipsticks are like this I will definitely be buying more of them!)

The image above does not give the colour any justice though, it is VERY bright, so if you are not confident with bright lip colours then I would steer well clear, but like me, if you love it, just give it a go! At £8, the price is pretty expensive, but I brought mine when they were offering 20% off for students so it was just over £6 which is a bit more reasonable, but if you are looking for a statement lipstick then this is worth the price tag!

Let me know if you like the lipstick or whether you think I'm crazy for buying it and let me know if you have tried it or any of Topshop's other colours.

Thanks for reading and leave some post suggestions below!
